Our Partnership with Parents
As a school we believe that your involvement and participation is an essential part of
your child’s education.
It is our policy to encourage and develop parental cooperation in every possible way.
The Headteacher and staff are pleased to meet parents
at any mutually convenient time and throughout the year we arrange a series of:

Parents’ Evenings - Held termly during each school year so that parents and form teachers can have regular discussions on the childrens’ progress.

Reports - A detailed annual report on progress as well as a National
Curriculum Assessment at the end of Year 6 designed to give independent
information about a child’s progress. -
A termly Newsletter with dates of forthcoming events and school news.

Invitations - to a variety of concerts and other activities throughout the
year.
The Home - School Agreement
The Home - School Agreement is a three way contract between the school, the parent and the student which is signed on admission to the school. It underlines the standards, responsibilities and commitments which all parties need to maintain in a modern learning environment.

Caring for Your Child
Minor accidents and illness are dealt with in school. In the unlikely event of a more
serious injury happening then your child will be made as comfortable as possible
while parents are informed.
Should it not be possible to contact parents then staff will take every care to ensure the child receives suitable treatment. If a child becomes ill during the day and it is inappropriate to remain in school we contact parents by telephone. We ask for your co-operation in giving us the telephone number of a friend or relative we may use in an emergency if you are unavailable.
If a child needs to take any prescribed medication during the school day parents are
asked to contact school and make suitable arrangements and complete a medical
form before sending medicines into school.
Equipment and Belongings
We ask for your co-operation in supplying your child with:

Black pens, pencils, ruler, eraser and a set of coloured pencils

A bag to carry equipment including books and PE kit (though we ask that the bag is not too large as we have to store over 400 of them?)
With pupils of this age items are often mislaid but rarely stolen so please
clearly name items, particularly clothing, so that it can be returned when
lost.
Pupil Information
It is important that we share up to date information. The school keeps you informed through newsletters, bulletins and via this website. It is important that you keep us informed too.
Please let us know of any changes, such as address or phone number as soon as possible. You can also fill in a new copy of our Pupil Information form to do this. You can obtain this from the school or you can click here to download a copy in Microsoft Word format.
