Our Mission Statement...
“To enable every individual to develop and realise their potential within
a caring, supportive school community of which they can be
proud.”
We seek to achieve this goal via the supporting aims:
Individuality
To recognise and value everyone as an individual, each with their
own specific needs and to establish a life-time appreciation of learning in which all
forms of achievement are acknowledged.
Learning Environment
To create an interesting and stimulating environment
in which everyone takes responsibility for their own learning through first hand experience
whenever possible.
Responsibility
To encourage everyone to be caring, confident and concerned
members of society, both now and in the future.
Partnership
To establish an understanding and successful working partnership
between home and school.
Discrimination on the basis of colour, origin, sex or ability is unacceptable in this school.
All pupils will normally have access to the whole school curriculum and we hope every
pupil and teacher will further this objective by personally contributing towards a happy
and caring environment, showing respect and appreciation for each other.
Equality of Opportunity
The school's regard for equal opportunities is central to its aims and ethos. Strategies for implementing the policy are clearly stated. Positive efforts are made to enhance the equal opportunities afforded to all pupils by lessons in the Personal Social Healthy Education Programme.
Planning and organisation ensure that the needs of all pupils from differing ethnic and social family backgrounds are met within the teaching and corporate life of the school.
Personal development and relationships between teachers, pupils as well as amongst pupils is excellent. Pupils are kind to each other, value kindness in others and are trustworthy. Their social skills are good and this helps the school to run smoothly.
